IronWoman Mentor Program

As iron sharpens iron,

so one sharpens another.

Mentoring another person is one of the greatest gifts one could give to another

IronWomen Mentor is TWW’s Women’s Peer Mentoring program and serves as the active pool for SIS mentors. This program was founded in 2014 and embodies the proverb “As Iron sharpens Iron, so one sharpens another”.

With strong belief that mentoring not only sharpens the mentee but the mentor, as well, this program inspires women to reach out to other women. By simply reaching out to one another for development, guidance, and insight, IronWomen volunteer to assist each other with personal and professional growth. Mentoring women to success is the ultimate goal of the program.

Iron Sharpens Iron

We believe that mentoring sharpens not only the mentee but the mentor. This volunteer movement aims to inspire women to reach out to other women and, through the simple act of offering guidance and insight, help them achieve their personal and professional aspirations.

There’s no better feeling,

in the world than helping another.

Our goal is to mentor women to success.

IronWomen Mentor has over 40 active mentors that dedicate their time, treasure and talent to support our SISters (participants of the Stepping Into Strength (SIS) Mentoring Program.

Based on the principle that “Iron Sharpens Iron”, these women are entrepreneurs, executive-level professionals, teachers, medical professionals, attorneys, etc. They support the high school mentees at monthly meetings, serve as presenters, chaperones and have funded the activities and outings for the girls for five years.

Eliminate negative competitiveness and encourage positive assistance

By simply reaching out to one another for development, guidance, and insight, IronWomen volunteer to assist each other with personal and professional growth. Mentoring women to success is the ultimate goal of the program.

IronWomen achieve this goal by eliminating negative competitiveness and encouraging positive assistance, woman to woman, one woman at a time. Not only do IronWomen mentor peers, they also serve as mentors to girls in the SIS program, as well as clients who receive services from Carla’s Closet.
