Carla’s Closet

Providing an opportunity,

to make a lasting impression.

Carla’s Closet has provided professional clothing for more than 100+ clients in the Greater Houston and surrounding areas.

inspired by Carla Lane’s insight from her employment business, she saw a need existed for women entering the job market. She identified many women lacking adequate or proper clothing to wear when interviewing for jobs.

Addressing this need was the driving force behind the establishment of Carla’s Closet in 2013. The purpose of Carla’s Closet is to offer women confidence and improved chances for securing and maintaining employment by dressing them for marketability and success.

Helping Women Across The State

Carla’s Closet has provided over 3,500 prom dresses since 2017 in partnership with the HISD Project Prom and Spring ISD. The Closet serves as an emergency responder supporting Strategic Partners in the Greater Houston area to help women and girls in real time with clothing needs for interviews and ongoing work activity.

Change your look,

improve your quality of life.

A simple change of clothes can drastically change a life

Carla’s Closet empowers and encourages women to continue to improve themselves and the lives of their families with support on their journey from the community.

Our partnership,

with dress for success.

Dress for Success has been helping women
get clothing they need to land a good job since 1997

Sharing their vision of a world where women are economically empowered, we have established a partnership to support additional needs for Dress for Success clients who have completed the curriculum and suiting process.

Approved Dress for Success clients will be referred to Carla’s Closet. (Approval means the client has secured an interview and/or offer.) Once accepted, TWW will schedule a first and second suiting appointment where they will be provided complete outfits for work.

Each “suiting” and interview prep appointment is about 2 hours long. In the first hour, participants select an interview suit with a personal shopper. The second hour, clients participate individually or with a group for a “First Impression” session to prepare for the interview or the fist days at your new place of employment. Clients are also able to earn shopping credit to build their professional wardrobe.
